Website Changes
Regular users of the website may have noted some changes recently. To sumarise these are:
- Content providers can now upload files tothe website for direct download by members. Squash leagues, application forms entry forms- all can be loaded up with no administrative overhead.
- The urls for news artilce have been changed to be easier to understand and read. All articles fed by the news system now have the path /article/<number>/
- The rss feed is now working again. This was broken by the change to a new server and was overlooked. Judging by the lack of howls of protest one can only assume no one noticed. However Members are encouraged to subscribe tothe feed- thisis especially easily done in ie7 or firefox browsers or via new aggregator software. hat way you need never miss any of the compelling articles that appear here ever again.
- Katy Buchanan has started putting up regular updates to the squash section of the site. It would be really cool if someone would take on the tennis section just so members know the info on the site is up to date on this front. Contact the webmaster if you want to do this. Well done Katy.
- On the subject of the squash section note that the menus have been amended to cope with the hopefully inreased traffic.
And finally if you notice any funnies withthe pages not being formatted correctly let the webmaster know- There have been two new browsers (firefox 2 and ie 7) released recently and these have caused hours of fun in trying to get the layout of the site to play with them all, acceptably. The site is made to work first and foremost in Firefox 2 then ie7 as they are the most standards compliant browsers available. If you are not using one of these you are encouraged, for your own security and the webmasters sanity to do so!
farewell and thanks for all the fish
